
Remembering Rosemarie - The hidden history of a Cornish
Houseboat
This documentary feature film, explores the previously un-documented working
history of the Rosemarie, an early 'Brown Owl' style motor yacht built at
the prestigious boat-builders R.S.Burts & Sons of Falmouth in 1930 for
the Henderson family of St Mawes. She was requisitioned by the Admiralty in
1940 and did 8yrs of wartime service at Falmouth and Newlyn. Post war she
became a pleasure cruiser, running ferry trips to St Mawes, up the River Fal,
to Malpas and down the Helford River. Finally working as a holiday let houseboat
in the picturesque Gillan Creek on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. Her stroy
is told by those who remember her.
